Changing your dial-up phone number

    If you have a dialup icon on your desktop, it's really easy to change your dial-up number.  The next time you double-click on the icon, before you connect to the Internet, just change the number.  If your old number was 882-8768, change it to one of the numbers on the list below.

    If you don't have an icon on your screen,

• Click on the Apple in the upper left corner.
• Click on “System Preferences”.
• Click on “Network” icon.
• Show Built-in Modem or Internal Modem
• Click the PPP tab.

NOTE: Make sure the lock in the bottom left corner of “Network” window is unlocked. Otherwise you will not be able to make changes.

• Under “Telephone Number”, if your old number was 882-8768, change it to:

• Albion - 592-4020 Bovill - 826-4138 Cora - 668-0138 Deary - 877-2167 Elk River - 826-4138 Garrison - 872-5116 Genesee - 285-2116 Moscow - 874-4042 Potlatch - 875-2139 Pullman – 592-4020 Wellesley - 858-1138

   

• Click “Apply Now”. Click on “System Preferences” in Menu bar and click “Quit System Prefs”.
• To connect, either click on the phone icon in the upper right corner and click “Connect”. Or click on the blue “e” in the dock (located at bottom center of screen).  
• Local usernames also change.  If it was "myname", then it becomes "myname@turbonet.com".
