Adding a Real Estate Site

  1. Submit the domain information on the Internet, if applicable.
    1. Go to https://rr-n1-tor.opensrs.net/~vpop/resellers/index.cgi.
    2. login:  cactus
    3. password is weird.
    4. Place order manually, ID # 5261867
    5. password for site is same as car doors.
  2. Create a database (db) file for the user's domain in the var/names folder of the primary name server.
    1. Go to the primary DNS server computer (Cypher)
    2. Click on the "shortcut to named boot" folder
    3. Double-click on "websites.txt".
    4. Save as db.xxx.com.txt (or .net or .org)
    5. replace all DOMAIN with XXX
    6. Change the sequence number.  Use the ASCII date and "01" for the first time you've changed that file today, etc.
    7. Change the IP addresses
    8. Remove FTP access
    9. Save it.
  3. Add the domain to the named.boot file of the primary DNS server and reload the DNS server's database
    1. Go to the named.boot file
    2. Add a line above "provide reverse..." near the bottom
    3. Run the DNS controller and reload the databases.
  4. Add the domain to the named.boot file of the secondary DNS server and reload the DNS server's database.  See the above step.
  5. If they have an existing domain, make Mydomain.US-Realty.net in DNS as above so they can get to the site.
  6. As a check:  go to a command prompt on the secondary server and type "nslookup www.xxx.com"
  7. Set up the TurboNet database
    1. Enter the billing information in the TurboNet database.
    2. Add the password in the comments field.
  8. Create a web server for the account
    1. On Speedy, create a directory for the new site.  Copy (not move!) everything from RETemplate. 
    2. use the Internet Service Manager
    3. Right-click on "Speedy"
    4. Create a new web site.  Right-click on the site, pick Properties, and Advanced.  Add the other forms of the domain and Mydomain.Palouse.net if applicable.
    5. Add the following four virtual directories (right-click on the name, new, virtual directory). 
      1. Images (remove "run scripts")
      2. Helpfiles (remove "run scripts")
      3. Styles (remove "run scripts")
      4. Scripts (add "execute")
    6. Write down the logfile address.
  9. Log into the Global Administration of the Statistics Server by going to http://stats.turbonet.com/server.htm.
  10. Create a new server giving it the IP address and location of the logfiles.
    1. Go to Advanced Create New Server
    2. Virtual Server login ID  xxx
    3. Virtual Server name:  www.xxx.com
    4. Virtual Server URL:  207.13.199.245
    5. Data Collection performed by:  collector
    6. Log File Format:  WeC Extended (Common Date:  YY/MM/DD)
    7. Scan Logs Every:  1 hour
    8. under Local or UNC:  \\speedy\logfiles\W3svc...
    9. Directory Mask:  ex*.log
    10. Host Name Aliases or IPs to exclude from referrals: www.xxx.com
    11. Submit server
  1. If wanted, log into the Virtual Administration for the server you just created and create a user account for whoever is going to be viewing the statistics - usually the same username and password as the FTP.
    1. Go to All Configured Servers
    2. Server Admin
    3. User management
    4. add new user.  (Just the username and password - leave other fields blank.)
    5. Remove all public permissions for the new stats server and give them to the user.
      1. Go to user permissions
      2. Unclick all of everyone and click all of xxx.
  2. Add their domain to the list of aliases for TurboNet, or create a virtual mail domain, or whatever.
  3. Log into their web site and change the name, address, key words and password.
  4. Email the user his instructions.  Remember the email "tag".
