Adding an Apache Site

  1. Submit the domain information on the Internet, if applicable.
    1. Go to https://rr-n1-tor.opensrs.net/~vpop/resellers/index.cgi.
    2. login:  cactus
    3. password is weird.
    4. Place order manually, ID # 9989995
    5. password for site is same as car doors.
  2. Set up the TurboNet database
    1. Enter the billing information in the TurboNet database.  Don't forget the domain registration bill. 
    2. Add the username and password.
  3. Add the domain to the named.boot file of the DNS servers and reload the DNS server's database
    1. Pull up MS Access - George/data/NamedBoot.mdb
    2. Add a line for the new domain.  Save and exit.
    3. Go to George and run both the Generate DNS and Copy DNS programs.
  4. Create a database (db) file for the user's domain in the var/names folder of the primary name server.
    1. Go to the primary DNS server computer (Cypher)
    2. Click on the "DNS Files" folder
    3. Double-click on "websites.txt".
    4. Save as db.xxx.com.txt (or .net or .org)
    5. replace all DOMAIN with XXX
    6. Change the sequence number.  Use the ASCII date and "01" for the first time you've changed that file today, etc.
    7. Save it.
    8. Run the DNS update program.
  5. Go to an FTP program and connect to the user.  This both tests and creates the directories.
  6. Create a web server for the account

In Internet Explorer, go to webserver1.turbonet.com:81/login.php.  admin/(Tony's password)

  1. Create a new client under Cactus
    1. Group:  Cactus
    2. Folder:  Clients
    3. Fill in the blanks
  2. Click Login Data
    1. New Site
    2. Reseller:  Cactus
    3. Customer:  xxxx
    4. Hosting Plan:  Standard
    5. Folder:  sites
    6. Remove SSI and anonymous FTP
    7. User & Email tab
    8. Record the username and password on the paperwork.  Check the Administrator box - you must have at least one administrator.

 

  1. Create a virtual mail domain if indicated.
  2. Email the user his instructions.
