General Rules for Computer Care

1. Before you turn the computer off, SHUT DOWN. (GO TO THE "START" button, choose "SHUT DOWN" and "SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER").

2. Shut down and turn the computer off before unplugging or plugging in peripherals (mouse, keyboard, ...).

3. Shut down and turn the computer off before moving it.

4. Do not feed the machine. (Keep food away from the computer.)

5. Do not water the machine. (Keep ALL liquids away from the computer.)

6. When the computer says to insert a disk, make sure you've taken the previous one out.

7. You may delete FILES, but you shouldn't delete PROGRAMS. (A file is something you save, like a word-processing document. A program is something you install from a CD or disk) To remove a program, go to START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and follow the instructions.
