Changing your IP address in Windows 8

  1. Right-click on the Start button (in Windows 8.0, bounce to the lower-left corner of the screen to get the start button)
  2. Choose Control Panel from the menu
  3. Click on Network & Internet
  4. Click on Network & Sharing Center
  5. On the left, click on Change Adapter Settings
  6. Double-click on Ethernet
  7. Choose the Properties button
  8. Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (you may have to scroll down in the list)
  9.  

  10. Click the Properties button
  11. Change your IP address.  To move away from an existing static IP, click on Obtain an IP address automatically
  12. To move away from a static DNS, click Obtain DNS Server address automatically
  13. Click OK, then Close
